Structural reinforcements - Central Station and Canora Station (REM)
Under construction
Delivery scheduled for 2025
To ensure the implementation of the REM, structural reinforcement work was carried out at the Central and Canora stations, as well as within the Mount Royal Tunnel. This work, which was performed in an existing environment, included the construction of steel elements and reinforced concrete supports, as well as complex excavations.
These structural reinforcements to existing installations are necessary for the commissioning of the REM through the Mount Royal tunnel. This includes steel reinforcements, strengthening of reinforced concrete arches, and the excavation of complex areas using custom-made steel trench boxes as well as rock pile drilling beneath existing structures. Strategic interventions at Canora Station and within the Mount Royal Tunnel are also included in the project, such as the installation of steel structures, construction of firewalls, and repair of concrete walls. Some of the work was carried out continuously (24/7) over several weeks.
