Pierrefonds-Roxboro Aquatic and Recreational Complex

The complex, with a floor area of 4,586m2 and a surface footprint of 2,950m2, will feature 2 pools: one measuring 25m with springboards and diving boards, meeting World Aquatics (formerly FINA) standards for competition use; and a second with a splash park, a slide and a spa area, for recreational use. A closed hammam is also to be installed next to the pools. When it comes to the building’s exterior, the cladding will be predominantly black and grey metal. Several bay windows will complete the ensemble. The structure will be steel and the floors concrete slabs, except for the pools and changing rooms, which will be ceramic, and the multi-purpose room, which will benefit from a rubbery covering for comfort. Several measures in terms of sustainable development have been put forward, with the project aiming for LEED v4 Gold certification.
