Point-du-Jour Service Area

The Point-du-Jour Service Area project in Lavaltrie also includes the reconstruction of the Highway 40 entrance and exit ramps in both eastbound and westbound directions, replacement of lighting equipment, resurfacing of existing pavement, and installation of underground infrastructure (pipes and electrical systems).
Traffic flow was maintained throughout the project by developing customized signage plans for each construction phase near the highway, in both directions, ensuring maximum safety for construction crews. Each signage plan was carefully prepared to meet regulatory requirements while preserving newly built installations, including the refurbishment and reuse of an existing pumping station (with two artesian wells) to supply water to the rest area. This water is treated on-site to provide potable water for the facility.
An underground reservoir with a capacity of 25,000 liters and a sludge treatment capacity of 585 cubic meters was also integrated near the rest area.
