Bridge P-17337 (A-520 Overpass and 55th Avenue)
Project Complete
The project, classified as a complex structure, involves the demolition and reconstruction of a Highway 520 overpass over 55th Avenue. The challenges of the project were mainly to maintain and manage mobility, to install temporary supports and formwork involving the laying of structural concrete.
The project was carried out in 2 phases. First, the overpasses for the main roads were rebuilt. Then, the overpasses for the express lanes were reconstructed. A lane in each direction was also added to 55th Avenue under Highway 520.
Several restrictions were imposed as part of the project, including the extended closure of 55th Avenue to all vehicles and pedestrians, as well as the complete closure of Highway 520.
