Louise-Gravel Plant

Under construction
Delivery scheduled for 2029
The work consists of updating the electrical equipment at the Louise-Gravel plant, considering the obsolescence of the equipment. In conjunction with this update, the electric motor pump sets and diesel engine pumps will be replaced. All the electrical work will require the construction of a new building to keep all the services in operation.

A new building will be erected to house the new, larger equipment, ensuring better protection, greater accessibility, and system redundancy, thus guaranteeing continued service during the works. The project also includes the replacement of the motor-driven pumps and their electrical distribution, which have become obsolete. This work will be carried out simultaneously with the upgrading of the electrical equipment, as the two systems are interdependent. The work also includes replacement of the hydraulic gallery valves, as well as continued refurbishment of the decanters and chemical tanks. More specifically, the work includes:

The construction of a new building on the grassy area between the police station parking lot and the existing generator annex building, to house the new electrical station and two generators. It will also include the reconstruction of two electrical rooms in the existing plant, and the replacement of seven distribution pumps and electric motors.

The dismantling of the existing electrical entrance, i.e. the removal of equipment and the shelter on the roof of the plant, and the removal of the electrical pylon on Joliette Street. Finally, the work includes the addition and replacement of fence sections with new motorized gates to secure the rear of the plant and facilitate deliveries, as well as landscaping including rainwater retention and a landscaped strip between the building and the residential lots on rue Joliette.
