Computer Technician

Under the supervision of the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager, the incumbent will provide technical support to users, maintain technological infrastructure, and deploy new IT solutions.

At Tisseur, the IT team supports five business locations throughout Quebec as well as numerous active construction sites. Every day brings its share of technical challenges, technology deployments, and continuous improvements.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to users;

  • Diagnose and resolve incidents related to workstations, software, mobile devices, and peripherals;

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment (computers, printers, phones, mobile devices, scanners, etc.);

  • Participate in the administration and support of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Intune environments;

  • Manage user accounts and access;

  • Contribute to the deployment of equipment and technology projects;

  • Participate in the maintenance of network infrastructure and systems;

  • Produce and update technical documentation;

  • Comply with IT security policies and participate in cybersecurity initiatives;

  • Ensure the procurement, tracking, and maintenance of IT equipment inventories;

  • Daytime and weekday schedule. There is no in-house 24/7 service;

  • Escalate incidents and requests requiring specialized expertise to the appropriate resources;

  • Perform all other related tasks.

Required skills

  • Technical training in computer science at the vocational or college level (DEP, DEC, AEC);

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in information technology and IT support;

  • Good knowledge of Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, PowerShell, OneDrive, and SharePoint;

  • Knowledge of Azure;

  • VPN, DHCP, IP, and DNS;

  • Knowledge of VMware/Hyper-V;

  • Excellent general IT knowledge: Microsoft systems, office software, telephony, antivirus, networking, etc.;

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity;

  • Self-reliant, resourceful, and solution-oriented;

  • Good at managing priorities and well-organized;

  • Strong customer service skills;

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Committed to continuous learning and naturally curious.
