Estimator - Buildings

The Estimator in our Building division is responsible for analyzing tender documents for our large-scale public construction projects. They ensure proper coordination and follow-up of bids with various subcontractors. They are in charge of preparing the different files to be submitted in proper form and on time.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Analyze tender documents (all plans and specifications);

  • Invite subcontractors from each category to submit bids;

  • Follow up with subcontractors;

  • Prepare change notices;

  • Ensure submission deadlines are met;

  • Manage documentation on the FTP site;

  • Analyze subcontractor pricing;

  • Enter bids into the budget;

  • Submit the completed file to the director for project validation;

  • Perform all other related tasks.

Required skills

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in architecture or estimating;

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in estimating with a general contractor or any other relevant experience;

  • Possess excellent knowledge in estimating and building construction;

  • Ability to read plans and specifications;

  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word);

  • Knowledge of BIM;

  • Ability to work on multiple files simultaneously;

  • Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines;

  • Attention to detail;

  • Autonomous;

  • Teamwork skills;

  • Good interpersonal communication;

  • Strong analytical thinking.
