Superintendent - Building
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the person will be responsible for planning and organizing the work of the teams on construction sites, supervising the work, and ensuring that it is carried out properly from a technical standpoint. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with plans and technical specifications, conformity with standards, and the quality of the work performed by contractors. All of this will be done in collaboration with OHS advisors and the various partners involved in the project.
Roles and responsibilities
Coordinate, supervise, and organize the work of construction site employees, subcontractors, and other trades;
Inspect subcontractors' work;
Plan the work schedule and ensure that deadlines are met;
Monitor project deadlines and ensure compliance with quality standards;
Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with plans and specifications;
Monitor the quality of the work performed and ensure that contractual obligations are met;
Forecast material and labor requirements to ensure optimal efficiency in the execution of the work;
Coordinate change requests on site;
Participate in daily site meetings with clients and subcontractors;
Work in collaboration with the project manager and professionals;
Apply procedures related to health and safety management on construction sites;
Complete timesheets and the site log;
Ensure the cleanliness of the site;
Ensure compliance with CNESST laws;
Perform any other related tasks.
Required skills
Six years of relevant experience in construction site supervision;
Experience and knowledge of the institutional/commercial and industrial division;
Ability to manage a building construction site worth over $20 million;
Ability to analyze plans and specifications;
Knowledge of basic computer software (Excel, Word);
Knowledge of PROCORE (an asset);
