Estimating Intern - Civil Engineering

Estimating is a key discipline in the construction industry. It requires precision, judgment, curiosity, and a comprehensive understanding of projects. It's the stage where everything begins—and a solid foundation for those who aspire to one day become project managers. You will join our civil engineering estimating department, the strategic heart of any construction project. Your daily routine? You will help prepare bids for a variety of infrastructure projects. You will work closely with experienced estimators and be involved in many aspects of this field.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Analyze plans and specifications;

  • Receive and record documents;

  • Perform various quantity surveys (2D, 3D, BIM);

  • Conduct price and subcontractor studies;

  • Participate in site visits;

  • Ensure the preparation of bid documents;

  • Update cost bases and contacts;

  • Perform all other related tasks.

What we are looking for in you:

  • You must be a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering OR construction engineering.

  • Knowledge of civil engineering materials.

  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Geomensura, MS Project, or estimation tools (an asset).

  • Be organized and thorough.

  • Curious and resourceful

  • Proactive and eager to get involved

  • Proficiency in Office suite
