Project Director - Buildings

The Project Director of our Building division stands out through their leadership and technical expertise, effectively supporting team members during the more challenging phases of managing large-scale projects assigned to them. They assist in budget and schedule management and foster a strong team spirit to create a dynamic and efficient work environment for their team.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure that adequate resources are available for the project;

  • Prioritize deliverables and contracts;

  • Establish everyone's tasks;

  • Draw up the reference schedule with the project manager;

  • Maintain a cohesive team spirit;

  • Organize team meetings, determine their recurrence and ensure that minutes are drawn up by the project coordinator;

  • Determine the client's contractual procedures (e.g.: what is the procedure for a notice of dispute, deadlines, etc.);

  • Provide supervision and act as a resource person on projects;

  • Manage litigation files in collaboration with the project manager;

  • Manage various claims;

  • Monitor site progress with the project manager and superintendent;

  • Participate in site start-up meetings as required;

  • Monitor changes (directive/avenant/purchase order) on projects managed by the project manager;

  • Follow up payment requests so that they are transmitted on the first of each month;

  • Manage the customer when necessary;

  • Follow up QRTs in collaboration with the Project Manager;

  • Ensure that minutes are kept for all meetings;

  • Be proactive for project endings (deficiencies, release of holdback subcontractor and Weaver);

  • Perform any other related tasks.

Required skills

  • University degree or college diploma in architecture or construction engineering;

  • At least 6 years' experience as a project manager;

  • Experience in carrying out construction projects;

  • Ability to read plans and specifications;

  • Knowledge of the PROCORE computer system;

  • Ability to work as part of a team;

  • Organized and able to prioritize;

  • Versatile;

  • Proactive.
