Project Manager - Civil
The Project Manager in our Civil Engineering Division is responsible for managing our various public and private projects. The incumbent ensures effective coordination of the team in place to create a dynamic and efficient work environment. He or she is involved in every stage of the work, ensures that deadlines are met, operational compliance is maintained, and budgets are respected, and acts as a point of contact for the various stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Plan (from start to finish) and coordinate the project;
Create and monitor project schedules and budgets;
Evaluate project performance and make any necessary adjustments: scope and quality;
Oversee and enforce the various project contracts;
Oversee the technical aspects of the project and the regulations in force;
Ensure compliance with the project management process;
Supervise the construction teams in the execution and management of priorities;
Effectively manage and coordinate the material and human resources of the construction site;
Participate in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers;
Participate in the management of monetary issues (claims, backcharges, opportunities, etc.);
Ensure compliance with project health and safety standards;
Manage project risks and minimize impacts: identify, assess, develop contingency plans, and ensure execution;
Replace assistant project managers in case of absence;
Demonstrate leadership to motivate and supervise the project site team;
Communicate clearly and effectively with all project stakeholders;
Follow up on the project with the project manager;
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management (processes, tools, etc.) by identifying needs and proposing solutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS
University degree or college diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering;
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a project manager;
Experience in the field of construction and civil engineering;
Ability to read plans and specifications;
Proficiency in project management tools and software (PROCORE an asset);
Knowledge of the legal aspects of project management;
Ability to manage priorities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement;
Be self-reliant and proactive;
Teamwork skills;
Be organized and versatile.
