Project Manager - Building

The Project Manager in our Buildings Division is responsible for managing large-scale public building construction projects. He/she coordinates the team in place to create a dynamic and efficient work environment. He/she takes part in every stage of the work, ensures that deadlines are met and acts as a point of reference for the various parties involved.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Administer, plan and coordinate all stages of a construction project in collaboration with the Superintendent;

  • Produce instructions and shop drawings in PROCORE software in collaboration with the project coordinator;

  • Write and follow up P3S and QRT;

  • Develop and respect schedules while ensuring work progress;

  • Ensure communication and coordination with the customer, professionals and subcontractors involved in the project;

  • Manage customer requests, directives, etc;

  • Conduct site visits;

  • Analyze shop drawings;

  • Follow up customer payment requests;

  • Process, check and send QRTs to professionals;

  • Attend statutory Professional/Customer meetings;

  • Verify architect's minutes;

  • Plan and attend coordination meetings with subcontractors, including follow-up on minutes;

  • Manage deficiency list;

  • Manage receipts and invoices in collaboration with accounting;

  • Verify cheques in collaboration with accounting;

  • Manage professional reports;

  • Inform customers of extras and send purchase orders;

  • Monitor ongoing projects;

  • Prepare payment requests to customers and subcontractors;

  • Any other related tasks.

Required skills

  • University degree or college diploma in architecture or building engineering;

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a project manager;

  • Experience in the construction industry an asset;

  • Ability to read plans and specifications;

  • Knowledge of the PROCORE computer system;

  • Ability to work independently;

  • Ability to work as part of a team;

  • Be organized;

  • Be versatile;

  • Be proactive.
