Assistant Project Manager - Civil

Working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the incumbent actively participates in the smooth running of the project and ensures effective coordination of the team in place to create a dynamic and efficient work environment. He or she is involved in each stage of the work and ensures that deadlines are met.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate schedules and monitor project quality;

  • Oversee the scope of subcontractor contracts;

  • Oversee the technical aspects of the project and applicable regulations;

  • Comply with the project management process (document management);

  • Consolidate quantities completed for payment purposes;

  • Ensure compliance with project health and safety standards;

  • Participate in the identification of risks and mitigation measures;

  • Consolidate quantities completed by subcontractors;

  • Supervise certain construction operations;

  • Be the technical reference for operations;

  • Develop and participate in construction methods;

  • Develop and participate in technical certifications and calculations;

  • Handle change requests and technical questions;

  • Responsible for internal technical deliverables;

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all project stakeholders;

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management (processes, tools, etc.) by identifying needs and proposing solutions;

  • Ensure compliance with deliverable deadlines;

  • Enforce standards and regulations;

  • Perform all other related tasks.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • University degree or college diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering;

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an assistant project manager;

  • Experience in civil engineering construction is an asset;

  • Ability to read plans and specifications;

  • Complete mastery of technical documents and requirements;

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (PROCORE an asset);

  • Be independent and proactive;

  • Teamwork skills;

  • Be organized and versatile.
