Assistant Project Manager - Buildings

The Assistant Project Manager of our Building Division will manage large-scale public building construction projects. The individual will act as the right-hand person to the project manager, ensuring the smooth coordination of the team to create a dynamic and efficient work environment.

They will be involved in every stage of the work, ensure adherence to schedules, and act as a point of reference for the various stakeholders. This position is an excellent opportunity for graduating students to quickly advance their careers within a professional and dynamic team.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Administer, plan, and coordinate all stages of a construction project in collaboration with the superintendent.

  • Produce instructions and process shop drawings in the PROCORE software in collaboration with the project coordinator.

  • Draft and follow up on P3S and QRT documents.

  • Develop and adhere to schedules while ensuring the progress of the work.

  • Ensure communication and coordination with the client, professionals, and subcontractors involved in the project.

  • Manage client requests and directives, etc.

  • Conduct site visits.

  • Analyze shop drawings.

  • Follow up on client payment requests.

  • Process, verify, and send QRT documents to professionals.

  • Attend statutory Professional/Client meetings.

  • Verify the minutes issued by the architect.

  • Plan and attend coordination meetings with subcontractors, including follow-up on minutes.

  • Manage the deficiency list.

  • Manage releases and invoices in collaboration with accounting.

  • Verify checks in collaboration with accounting.

  • Manage professional reports.

  • Inform clients of extras and send purchase orders.

  • Ensure rigorous follow-up on ongoing projects.

  • Prepare payment requests to clients and subcontractors.

  • Any other related tasks.

Required skills

  • University degree or college diploma in architecture or building engineering.

  • Internship experience in the construction field is an asset.

  • Ability to read plans and specifications.

  • Knowledge of the PROCORE software system.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Teamwork skills.
