The construction site signaler is responsible for directing and regulating vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure safety at construction sites. They use hand signals or equipment to convey clear instructions while remaining alert to their surroundings. They work with the construction crew to facilitate machinery operations and prevent accidents.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Plan site signage;

  • Install signage around the site;

  • Maintain signaling equipment;

  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the team;

  • Communicate directly with drivers.

Required skills

  • Hold a valid CCQ card for their trade;

  • Hold a valid ASP Construction card;

  • Have several years of experience working on large-scale construction sites;

  • Good proficiency in reading plans, diagrams, drawings, and sketches;

  • Autonomous and resourceful;

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
